Orlando’s forecast today calls for a high near 90°F with partly sunny skies giving way to a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon, so get your morning errands, pool time, or theme park touring done early before the sky turns unsettled this afternoon.

Today’s Setup

The National Weather Service in Melbourne says a plume of tropical moisture, with precipitable water values over 2 inches, is anchored right over the peninsula, keeping Central Florida unsettled to start the week. Expect a 50 to 70% chance of storms today and again Tuesday, with the strongest cells capable of wind gusts up to 50 mph. There’s also a 5 to 10% chance some spots see 3 to 4 inches of rain, enough to cause flooding around Orlando’s usual poor-drainage areas near downtown and Lake Eola.

Best Window To Be Outside

Morning is your window. Temperatures climb into the mid-to-upper 80s before noon under mostly sunny to partly sunny skies, southwest wind around 10 mph. That’s the time to hit Disney, Universal, or SeaWorld before storms fire up after lunch and highs actually fall back to around 85 in the afternoon as the rain moves in.

Rain, Wind, Or Heat Risk

Storms are likely after noon today (50% chance) and linger before 10 p.m. tonight (40%) with lows near 75. Tuesday brings another round after 1 p.m. (50%), with heavier rainfall amounts of a tenth to a quarter inch, and Tuesday night’s coverage climbs to 57%. Gusty winds to 25 mph are possible with today’s storms, and morning humidity plus afternoon heat make hydration a must even without an official heat advisory.

What To Wear Or Bring

For pool or splash-pad mornings, pack quick dry swim trunks or a women’s swimsuit, and keep a UPF 50+ sun hoodie handy for sun protection before clouds build. For the afternoon soak, rain boot shoe covers keep feet dry on the walk to the car, and a Yeti hopper soft cooler holds up in the heat whether you’re at the park or the backyard.

Gameday & Events

Orlando City SC hosts Monterrey in Leagues Cup play Wednesday, August 5 at Inter&Co Stadium — get tickets on SeatGeek and grab official team gear on Fanatics before kickoff. Same night, Bryan Adams plays Kia Center with Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo — find tickets on StubHub if you’re heading downtown.

Tonight’s Meal Idea

It’s too hot to fire up the stove tonight — a cold Thai noodle salad or smoothie bowls hit the spot. A high-powered blender makes quick work of smoothies, and an insulated tumbler 30oz keeps drinks cold on the patio. Need ingredients? You can order groceries on Amazon and have everything for tonight’s dinner delivered to your door.

Next Few Days

Onshore flow returns by midweek, shifting the heaviest storm coverage to the interior Wednesday and Thursday as moisture briefly eases back toward normal. Forecasters are also watching a disturbance that could arrive from the east late in the week — if it holds together, rain chances and rip current risk at Atlantic beaches both increase starting Friday. Check the Orlando weather forecast and browse outdoor gear deals before your next park day.

Upcoming Home Games

Plan around the forecast — grab tickets, gear up, and see kickoff conditions.
