Editorial Policy

Weather Window exists to help readers make better daily decisions from reliable weather information. This page explains how our forecast, event, gameday, and affiliate articles are created and reviewed.

Weather Sources

Weather Window uses official public weather sources wherever possible, including National Weather Service forecasts, NWS Area Forecast Discussions, Storm Prediction Center outlooks, Weather Prediction Center rainfall products, National Hurricane Center products, and related government weather feeds.

We do not scrape competing weather publishers. When a claim cannot be grounded in the weather, event, or product data available to our workflow, it should not appear as a concrete fact.

AI-Assisted Publishing

We use AI-assisted workflows to draft, organize, and format weather and shopping coverage. AI helps us cover more cities and events, but it is constrained by structured source data and internal rules that prohibit invented facts, URLs, prices, quotes, and product names.

Before publication, automated checks look for placeholder text, broken internal links, malformed affiliate URLs, duplicate slugs, and unsupported link patterns. Articles that fail those checks are blocked for review instead of being published.

Affiliate Recommendations

The Deal Doppler is the affiliate arm of Weather Window. Some articles include product or ticket links related to the forecast, event, sport, or buying task. We may earn a commission when readers buy through those links, at no extra cost to the reader.

Affiliate links should feel useful in context. Severe-weather articles may mention preparedness gear; hot-weather articles may mention cooling or hydration products; gameday articles may mention tickets, team gear, or tailgating supplies. We do not want random links in articles where they do not help the reader.

Corrections

If we publish something that is inaccurate, stale, or unclear, we aim to correct it promptly. Weather changes quickly, so readers should always follow active watches, warnings, and instructions from local officials during dangerous conditions.
