Miami is looking at a mostly beautiful Sunday with a high near 83°F and just a slight chance of afternoon showers, making it an excellent day to get outside and enjoy South Florida’s spring weather.

This morning, you might notice some patchy fog across inland areas like the western reaches of Broward and Palm Beach counties, so take it easy if you’re heading out early. By mid-morning, that fog should burn off, and we’ll see partly sunny skies develop across the metro area. Light southeast winds at 3 to 7 mph will keep things comfortable—don’t expect that typical afternoon sea breeze to pack much punch today.

Here’s the timing on any rain: there’s a 20% chance of isolated showers developing between 3 PM and 5 PM ET, mainly along the East Coast metro corridor from Miami Beach up through Fort Lauderdale. The National Weather Service notes these could pop up where the Gulf breeze and Atlantic sea breeze collide over the interior, but coverage will be scattered at best. If you’re heading to loanDepot park for the Marlins game against Milwaukee this afternoon, you should be fine—any showers would be brief and isolated.

Your Sunday Game Plan:

This is prime fishing weather. The calm seas and light winds make it perfect for heading out to Biscayne Bay or even venturing to the reefs. If golf is on your agenda, you couldn’t ask for better conditions—grab your clubs and hit Doral or any of the courses around the metro before that afternoon window.

Grilling weather? Absolutely. Fire up that propane grill for steaks, burgers, or grilled chicken with corn on the cob. If you’re planning a backyard cookout, consider setting up a hammock with stand nearby for post-meal relaxation, or grab a cornhole game set to keep guests entertained. String lights overhead will create the perfect ambiance as the sun sets around 7:45 PM ET.

If you’re hosting a larger gathering, a patio furniture set and portable Bluetooth speaker will round out your outdoor setup nicely.

Tonight & Monday Outlook:

Sunday night stays mostly cloudy with lows around 75°F and another slight 20% chance of showers before 8 PM ET. But here’s where things change: a cold front will push through early Monday morning, bringing a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms by midday Monday. Expect heavier rain activity Monday afternoon with gusty north winds up to 20 mph. Monday’s high will be a cooler 81°F.

If you’re catching the Marlins-Cardinals series at loanDepot park Monday through Wednesday, Monday is the wettest day—bring an umbrella or raincoat. Tuesday and Wednesday should improve.

Tonight’s Dinner:

With perfect grilling conditions, fire up burgers and grilled chicken with fresh corn on the cob—a South Florida summer classic. Grab your instant-read meat thermometer to nail those temps every time. Did you know you can order groceries on Amazon? Get everything you need for tonight’s dinner delivered straight to your door.

Next Few Days:

Monday stays wet and breezy. By Tuesday, conditions gradually improve as the front moves offshore and high pressure rebuilds. Wednesday looks much nicer—drier, sunnier, and warmer. Check the Miami weather forecast for hour-by-hour updates, and browse outdoor gear deals to prep for the better weather ahead.
