NWS forecasters are flagging a significant severe thunderstorm threat, fueled by around 1,000–2,000 J/kg of atmospheric instability and 40–50 knots of effective bulk shear. That combination can produce supercells capable of damaging winds, large hail, and heavy downpours. Winds tonight could gust to 18 mph, with a quarter to half inch of rain possible overnight.
