Tampa weather today is sunny and 86°F—one of the nicest spring days we’ve had in a while, so get outside and enjoy it while you can.
This morning’s upper-level trough that brought a few light showers to Southwest Florida is pushing away, but don’t expect much rain here in the Tampa Bay area. We’re looking at just a 5% chance of precipitation through this afternoon, with gentle south winds at 3 to 7 mph. It’s an ideal day to hit Clearwater Beach, take a stroll through Busch Gardens, or head out to one of our local parks. If you’ve been putting off yard work, today’s the day—the light winds mean no fighting gusts while you mow or trim.
Tonight drops to around 65°F with partly cloudy skies, so if you’re heading to the BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN TAMPA at Raymond James Stadium tomorrow evening, you’ll want a light jacket for the walk to your car afterward.
The Weekend & Fire Safety Alert
Saturday stays sunny and warm at 88°F—another gorgeous day—but here’s where things get interesting. Our National Weather Service forecasters are tracking a weak cold front pushing through the Southeast this weekend, which will bring isolated showers and thunderstorms mainly to Florida’s interior (away from the coast). The coastal areas around St. Pete and Clearwater should stay mostly dry, but those inland near Lakeland could see a pop-up storm Sunday afternoon after 2 PM ET.
Here’s the important part: relative humidity levels will remain just above critical fire-weather thresholds through the weekend and early next week. If you live in a wooded area or near brush, now’s the time to clear gutters and trim dead branches. Keep a fire extinguisher home in your kitchen and garage, and consider having a go bag emergency evacuation kit ready during dry season. A smoke detector combo pack is also a smart investment—Florida’s fire season can escalate quickly, especially with our dry conditions.
Monday & Beyond
By Monday, that weak front pushes through and dries us out. Temperatures will warm into the low to mid-90s by midweek, so we’re officially entering early summer heat. Winds shift northeast and stay light (5–10 knots) through next week.
Weekend Events & Tailgating
If you’re catching the Romeo Santos & Prince Royce - Mejor Tarde Que Nunca Tour 2026 at Benchmark International Arena on Sunday, expect mostly sunny skies in the morning with a slight chance of storms after 2 PM ET—plan your pre-show dinner early. You can Find tickets on StubHub or Get tickets on SeatGeek if you’re still looking.
For grilling this weekend, Saturday is absolutely perfect—low winds, sunny, and 88°F. Fire up the grill early afternoon and beat any Sunday afternoon storms. A simple pasta or stir-fry works great for any weather, and if you need fresh ingredients, you can order groceries on Amazon and have everything delivered to your door.
Next Few Days
Expect increasing heat and humidity as we head into next week, with highs climbing toward 92–95°F by Wednesday. Our typical afternoon thunderstorm season isn’t far off, so enjoy these dry, sunny days while they last.
