St. Louis is waking up to a high near 78°F today, Sunday, June 14 — with a slight chance of early thunderstorms before 10 AM CT giving way to partly sunny skies for the rest of the afternoon. If you can shift your outdoor plans to late morning or after, you’re in for one of the more comfortable mid-June days the Gateway City has seen in a while.
Today’s Setup
A cold front pushed through overnight, and the National Weather Service in St. Louis says it’s dragging cool, dry air into the region through Sunday and into Monday. The storm risk is brief — roughly 20% — and mostly confined to before 10 AM CT. Once that clears, northwest winds at 8 to 14 mph with gusts near 23 mph will keep things feeling genuinely refreshing. Highs top out near 78°F, well below our typical muggy June norm. If you’re planning a trip to Forest Park, the Gateway Arch grounds, or Tower Grove Park, the afternoon should be lovely.
Best Window To Be Outside
After 10 AM CT is your sweet spot. The afternoon stays partly sunny with low humidity and a lively northwest breeze. Tonight is even better — partly cloudy, with a low near 58°F. Open the windows and enjoy it.
Monday (June 15) looks like the gem of the stretch: sunny, high near 79°F, and nearly calm winds. Get outside.
Rain, Wind, Or Storm Risk
No severe weather is expected today, and the Storm Prediction Center has no outlook for our area. The WPC’s excessive rainfall discussion focuses on Texas and the Southern Plains — not us.
The bigger story arrives mid-week. Per the NWS Area Forecast Discussion, southwest flow returns Tuesday with a 30% storm chance, and the best rain chances land Wednesday into Thursday as another system moves through. If you have outdoor projects or events mid-week, watch the forecast closely.
What To Wear Or Bring
For early risers heading out this morning, toss a compact travel umbrella in your bag. By afternoon you’ll want a light layer for that northwest breeze — a packable rain jacket works perfectly for both scenarios.
Cardinals Series + Weekend Events
Baseball fans, this is your week. The St. Louis Cardinals host the San Diego Padres at Busch Stadium on Monday (June 15), Tuesday (June 16), and Wednesday (June 17). Monday’s game looks ideal — sunny skies and 79°F. Tuesday bumps to 83°F with a 30% storm chance, so keep an eye on timing if you’re tailgating. Grab a St. Louis Cardinals jersey or St. Louis Cardinals fitted cap and head down to the ballpark. Check our Cardinals–Padres gameday weather breakdown for full tailgate details.
Tonight, Godsmack’s Rise of Rock World Tour 2026 hits Hollywood Casino Amphitheater — skies should be clearing nicely by showtime. On June 19, the MGK: Lost Americana Tour brings the party to Hollywood Casino Amphitheater as well. Get tickets on SeatGeek before the show sells out. Also worth noting: Shakey Graves plays The Pageant on June 16, and Ben Folds takes the stage at The Factory on June 19 — Find tickets on StubHub for either show.
Tonight’s Dinner Idea
With a cooler-than-usual evening dropping to 58°F, it’s a perfect day to set a programmable slow cooker going before you head out. A big batch of chili or beef stew will be waiting when you get home. And with Father’s Day on the horizon, a Father’s Day grilling set makes a natural gift for the mid-week warmup headed our way. Need ingredients? You can order groceries on Amazon and have everything for tonight’s dinner delivered to your door.
Next Few Days

- Tuesday: Warming to 83°F, 30% storm chance by afternoon.
