St. Louis is waking up to one of the nicest Fridays of the month — sunny skies, a high near 85°F, and refreshingly low humidity after a cold front swept through the metro overnight. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to get outside, today is your day. Just know that a significant round of storms is arriving Saturday, so make the most of it now.

Today’s Setup

That cold front pushed through the St. Louis metro in the early morning hours, scattering the clouds and cutting the mugginess that’s been lingering. The National Weather Service says highs stay in the low-to-mid 80s — right on par for mid-June — with a gentle northwest breeze around 5 mph. Tonight drops to a very comfortable 65°F under mostly clear skies. No complaints at all.

Best Window To Be Outside

Conditions are about as close to perfect as June gets around here. Golfers, get out to Forest Park or any of the metro courses today — it’s a calm, clear day where a golf rangefinder will actually pay off since there’s no wind messing with your yardages. Pack some ventilated workout shorts men and you’ll stay cool through 18 holes.

Tonight’s outdoor shows also look great. “Weird Al” Yankovic plays Ozarks Amphitheater tonight (June 12) under clear skies — Get tickets on SeatGeek if you haven’t yet. Billy Currington & Kip Moore take the stage at Saint Louis Music Park tonight as well. Both are dry and comfortable.

Storm Risk: Saturday Into Sunday

Saturday changes everything. The National Weather Service forecasts showers and thunderstorms developing after 7 AM CT Saturday, with storm chances rising to 50% through the day and spiking to 90% Saturday night as a cold front pushes through. NWS forecasters flag multiple rounds of storms with potential for organized severe weather, including damaging winds. This is a genuine threat — not just a passing shower.

Sammy Hagar at Hollywood Casino Amphitheater on Saturday (June 13) is an outdoor show — Find tickets on StubHub and bookmark the NWS for updates before you head out. Megan Moroney: The Cloud 9 Tour at Enterprise Center (June 13) is indoors and fully sheltered — no worries there. Rep the night with a Megan Moroney t-shirt or Megan Moroney hat.

Cardinals at Busch Stadium — Monday Looks Better

The St. Louis Cardinals host the San Diego Padres at Busch Stadium on June 15, and that game looks to land squarely on the drier, cooler side of the storm system. Check our full Busch Stadium weather forecast for Cardinals vs. Padres on June 15 before you plan your tailgate. Gear up with a St. Louis Cardinals jersey and a St. Louis Cardinals fitted cap.

Fire Up The Grill Tonight

Today’s 85°F sunshine is textbook grilling weather. Load up the propane gas grill with burgers, steaks, or grilled chicken with corn on the cob. A grill brush and scraper set keeps your grates ready to go, and an instant-read meat thermometer takes all the guesswork out of doneness. With Father’s Day coming up, a Father’s Day grilling set is a solid gift idea for the backyard cook in your life. If you’re planning something a little different, pork loin is under $1/lb right now and it smokes beautifully. Need to stock up on supplies? You can order groceries on Amazon and have everything for tonight’s dinner delivered to your door.

Next Few Days

  • Saturday: Storms likely — 90% chance by night, potential for severe weather with damaging winds. High near 86°F. Plan outdoor activities for the early morning only.
  • Sunday: Cooler near 77°F, still a 68% chance of rain lingering through the day.
  • Monday+: Drier, below-normal temperatures return to kick off the work week — good timing for the Cardinals home series at Busch Stadium.
