Seattle is starting Wednesday, June 17 under a familiar marine layer, but don’t let it slow your morning — the National Weather Service says those clouds will clear by 10 AM PT, leaving mostly sunny skies and a high near 75°F with calm northwest winds of 2 to 7 mph. Get outside and enjoy one of those rare, clean Pacific Northwest summer days.

Today’s Setup

Overnight onshore flow pushed stratus across the metro, keeping early temps in the low 50s. NWS forecasters say that marine air weakens through the morning, with clouds dissipating by mid-morning and sunshine taking over for the rest of the day. By afternoon, spots like Green Lake, Alki Beach, and the Burke-Gilman Trail will be warm and comfortable in the mid-70s. Tonight drops to around 56°F under mostly clear skies — open the windows.

Best Window To Be Outside

Anywhere from 10 AM through sunset is fair game. Low-level onshore flow diminishes through the afternoon, making conditions progressively calmer. Discovery Park, Myrtle Edwards, a paddleboard on Lake Union — all excellent choices. If you’re setting up a longer outdoor spread at a park, a pop-up canopy tent with weights is smart insurance against any lingering breeze. And if the sunny forecast has you eyeing Lake Washington, our pick for the 2-Person Intex Floating Lounge with Cooler for $24 is a steal for the season.

Rain, Wind, Or Heat Risk

None today. Zero percent precipitation chance, no heat advisory, and winds top out at 7 mph. The WPC and SPC have no warnings for the Seattle area — the severe weather is all in the Midwest and South today. This is as clean a forecast as Seattle gets.

Events This Week

Tonight: Two shows worth catching. Buju Banton & Stephen Marley: Roots and Rhymes Tour plays Marymoor Live in Redmond under clear skies — outdoor reggae in perfect weather. Downtown, Natalia Lafourcade brings her Cancionera Tour to the Paramount Theatre. Find tickets on StubHub if you need them, and a Natalia Lafourcade t-shirt makes a great show-night souvenir.

Thursday, June 18: The Seattle Mariners host the Baltimore Orioles at T-Mobile Park on a sunny, 77°F afternoon with a light north breeze — textbook ballpark conditions. Tailgating in SoDo will be comfortable all day. Grab a Seattle Mariners jersey or a Seattle Mariners fitted cap before you head over, and Get tickets on SeatGeek if you’re still looking.

Juneteenth, June 19: Team USA faces Australia in a FIFA World Cup Group D match at Lumen Field with mostly sunny skies and a high near 82°F. That’s about as good as outdoor sporting event weather gets. Grill Night

With 75°F and calm winds, Wednesday evening is made for the backyard. Fire up burgers, steaks, or grilled chicken with corn on the cob. Keep your grates in shape with a grill brush and scraper set, and nail every cook with an instant-read meat thermometer. Need ingredients? You can order groceries on Amazon and have everything for tonight’s dinner delivered to your door.

Next Few Days

The dry stretch holds. Thursday brings 77°F and full sunshine, with north winds picking up to 5–9 mph in the afternoon. Juneteenth on Friday warms to near 82°F — the warmest day of the stretch. The National Weather Service says the upper-level ridge stays offshore through next week, keeping Seattle dry with a pleasant pattern through the weekend.
