Seattle is in for a mostly sunny Tuesday with a high near 77°F, making today the better half of a two-day stretch before onshore flow ushers in cooler, cloudier air Wednesday — so if you’ve got outdoor plans, front-load them today.
Today’s Setup
The National Weather Service says a ridge is sliding east and inland this morning, keeping skies mostly clear early with temperatures in the 50s to lower 60s around Puget Sound. Highs climb to near 77 before actually easing back to around 75 in the afternoon, with a light west-southwest wind at 3 to 8 mph — barely enough to ripple the water off Alki Beach or Golden Gardens. Overnight lows drop to around 58 under increasing clouds as a weak, dry front slides in ahead of Wednesday.
Best Window To Be Outside
Midday through early afternoon is your sweet spot today, before that front arrives and Wednesday’s high settles to a cooler 72°F under mostly cloudy skies. It’s a good day to knock out yard work, get in a round at a Green Lake or Discovery Park trail, or fire up a portable propane grill for dinner on the deck while temperatures are still on the warm side. Precipitation chances are essentially zero today (1%) and stay low through Wednesday night.
Rain, Wind, Fire, Or Heat Risk
No rain, no wind advisories, and no severe weather concerns for the Seattle area today or Wednesday. Forecasters note that as flow turns onshore, smoke from Canadian wildfires will stay north and east of western Washington, keeping our air clear. The Weather Prediction Center’s excessive rainfall risk is focused on the Northern Plains and Mid-Atlantic — nothing affecting the Puget Sound region right now.
Games, Shows, And Weekend Plans
Tonight, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso bring their Free Spirits World Tour to the Paramount Theatre — read our full concert preview and grab tickets on SeatGeek or Find tickets on StubHub before you head out into the mild evening air. Later this week, Forrest Frank plays the Tacoma Dome Friday (details in our Jesus Generation Tour coverage) — a Forrest Frank t-shirt or Forrest Frank hat makes for a fun show-day pickup. Looking toward next weekend, Seattle Reign FC hosts Portland Thorns at Lumen Field on July 12, and The Head And The Heart mark their 15th Anniversary Tour at Remlinger Farms on July 11 (more in our tour writeup). Official team gear on Fanatics is worth checking before kickoff.
What To Wear Or Bring
Light layers and sunglasses today; a light jacket for Wednesday’s cooler, cloudier feel. If you’re heading to a lake or Puget Sound this week, this outdoor gear deal on a floating lounge is worth a look while the warm stretch holds, and a portable bluetooth speaker rounds out a beach or park hangout.
For dinner tonight, a versatile plate like pasta or a quick stir-fry fits either the sunny afternoon or the cooler evening ahead. Need ingredients? You can order groceries on Amazon and have everything for tonight’s dinner delivered to your door — Amazon Fresh groceries makes it easy to skip the store run.
Next Few Days
Expect near-seasonal temperatures Wednesday and Thursday as low pressure shifts into B.C., with onshore flow holding through the weekend and a slight chance of mountain showers over the Olympics and North Cascades (not the city itself). Early next week, high pressure builds and interior highs push into the low-to-mid 80s as the pattern turns warmer and drier.
