Seattle Weather Today: Partly Sunny 70°F, Perfect for Baseball and Grilling

7-Day Forecast

Today70°Partly Sunny
Sat70°Partly Sunny
Sun☀️78°Sunny
Mon☀️78°Sunny
Tue☀️73°Sunny
Wed☀️72°Sunny
Thu🌤️69°Mostly Sunny

Seattle weather today is looking fantastic—partly sunny skies, a high near 70°F, and light north-northwest winds of just 2 to 8 mph, with only a 7% chance of rain.

This is one of those rare May days where you’ll want to get outside and stay there. The National Weather Service notes that an upper-level low offshore is throwing mostly high clouds over the region early this morning, but those will dissipate later this morning, leaving partly sunny conditions through the afternoon. It’s well above normal for early May, and the light winds mean it’ll feel pleasant whether you’re in Discovery Park, Green Lake, or heading down to T-Mobile Park.

Game Day Weather

If you’re catching the Seattle Mariners vs. Kansas City Royals on Saturday, May 2nd at T-Mobile Park, you’re in for excellent baseball weather. Expect partly sunny skies, highs near 70°F, and minimal wind—ideal for both fans in the stands and the players on the field. Tailgating conditions will be superb; bring a light jacket for the evening as temps drop to the mid-50s after sunset. Consider grabbing a Seattle Mariners jersey or Seattle Mariners fitted cap to show your support, and Get tickets on SeatGeek or Find tickets on StubHub if you haven’t already locked in your seat.

There’s another Mariners-Royals matchup on Sunday, May 3rd—and that day is shaping up to be even better, with sunny skies and highs near 78°F. The National Weather Service is hinting at record-high potential Sunday as an upper-level ridge builds in, so plan accordingly.

Perfect Grilling Weather

Tonight and through the weekend, fire up the grill. This is ideal weather for burgers, steaks, or grilled chicken with corn on the cob. You’ll want an instant-read meat thermometer to nail those temps perfectly, and a grill brush and scraper set to keep your grates clean. The light winds mean smoke will drift naturally, and the cool evening (lows around 52°F tonight) will keep you comfortable while you cook.

What to Expect Tonight & Saturday

Mostly cloudy conditions tonight with lows around 52°F and light north-northeast winds. Saturday morning may see some stratus clouds form along the coast and spread inland early, but the National Weather Service expects those to dissipate by noon, leaving mostly sunny skies for the afternoon. Highs Saturday will again reach the lower 70s, with even lighter precipitation chances (just 3%).

Saturday night will be mostly clear and crisp—a great night for a stroll along the Waterfront or through the Ballard neighborhood before the week ahead.

The Week Ahead

Sunday is the standout day: sunny, near 78°F, and virtually no rain expected. An upper-level ridge is moving over Western Washington, and onshore flow is turning offshore—conditions that the National Weather Service says could push temperatures to record levels. Enjoy it while it lasts. By early next week, above-normal temperatures will continue, but an onshore flow shift will begin cooling things down starting Monday for coastal areas and Tuesday for the interior. Rain is expected to return midweek.

Dinner Suggestion

With grilling weather here, pull together a backyard feast. Grab a quality cut of beef or chicken, some fresh corn, and all your sides. You can order groceries on Amazon, including an instant-read meat thermometer and a grill brush and scraper set to get your setup ready. Have everything delivered to your door and focus on enjoying the evening instead of running errands.
