7-Day Forecast

Mon 66°Partly Sunny
Tue 65°Partly Sunny
Wed 68°Mostly Sunny
Thu 68°Mostly Sunny
Fri 65°Mostly Sunny
Sat 66°Mostly Sunny

San Francisco starts Sunday with a slight chance of showers before noon, but temperatures climb to a high near 67°F (easing back to around 65°F in the afternoon) as skies clear to mostly sunny — hold off on outdoor plans until after lunch if you want to dodge the last of the wet stuff.

Today’s Setup

The National Weather Service notes that a layer of very dry air sitting just above the marine layer, roughly 1,500 to 7,000 feet up, is what’s kept most of the moisture from reaching the ground overnight. Still, isolated to widely isolated showers can’t be ruled out through around noon, which is why the forecast carries a 15-20% chance of precipitation for the morning hours. West southwest winds run 7 to 13 mph with gusts up to 18 mph, so secure any patio furniture or umbrellas before you head out.

Best Window To Be Outside

Once the noon hour passes, confidence is high for clearing skies and a mostly sunny afternoon. That’s your window for a walk along Ocean Beach, a picnic in Golden Gate Park, or errands around town — just know Karl the Fog’s stratus deck typically builds back in over the city each evening, so plan outdoor dinners for earlier rather than after sunset.

Rain & Wind Watch

No severe weather is flagged for the Bay Area today, and rain chances are genuinely low — think isolated sprinkles, not a washout. The breezier WSW wind with gusts to 18 mph is the bigger factor if you’re on a bike or paddleboard.

What To Wear Or Bring

Layers are your friend today. A packable rain jacket handles any leftover morning drizzle, and a compact travel umbrella is smart insurance if you’re commuting early. By afternoon you’ll likely be shedding layers as the sun breaks through.

Bay Area Games & Events

The Oakland Athletics host the Miami Marlins today at Sutter Health Park — decent tailgating weather once the morning showers clear, so grab an Oakland Athletics jersey or Oakland Athletics fitted cap and Get tickets on SeatGeek if you’re heading over. Basketball fans can also catch Golden State Warriors action at the California Classic tonight at Chase Center. The San Francisco Giants open a series against the Toronto Blue Jays at Oracle Park on July 7 and 8, with warmer air expected by then. Music-wise, ROSALÍA brings the LUX Tour to Oakland Arena on July 6 (read our in-depth ROSALÍA coverage), and Olivia Dean plays Chase Center July 10 — pick up an Olivia Dean t-shirt or Find tickets on StubHub before they’re gone.

Tonight’s Dinner

With the cool, damp start to the day, this is a slow cooker chili or beef stew kind of Sunday. A programmable slow cooker or an enameled cast iron Dutch oven turns pantry staples into a warm dinner with almost no effort. Need ingredients? You can order groceries on Amazon and have everything for tonight’s dinner delivered to your door.

Next Few Days

Expect Monday to run similarly cool, with a high near 66°F, partly sunny skies, and just a 1% chance of rain. The National Weather Service says a warming trend arrives for the second half of the week, so if today feels sweater-weather cool, relief is coming soon.
