Wed⛈️65°Chance Showe...
Thu☀️71°Sunny
Fri☀️75°Sunny

Sacramento weather today is shaping up to be mostly sunny with a high near 77°F—exactly the kind of spring day that makes you want to get outside and enjoy it.

We’re looking at light south-southwest winds between 2 and 8 mph, so you won’t need to worry about wind gusts messing up your plans. Overnight, temperatures will dip to around 53°F with partly cloudy skies, so if you’re heading out for an evening stroll through Discovery Park or along the American River Parkway, grab a light jacket.

Make the Most of This Beautiful Day

This is genuinely one of those Sundays you don’t want to waste indoors. The National Weather Service is calling this a near-normal to slightly above-normal temperature day for mid-April, and with virtually no rain in the forecast (just 1% chance of precipitation), your outdoor plans are solid.

If you’ve been thinking about hitting the links at one of our local courses around the Capital City, today’s your day. Golf conditions will be excellent—clear skies, mild temps, and calm winds. Same goes for families planning a picnic at Folsom Lake or a bike ride along the Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail. The pollen count may be moderate this time of year, so if you’re allergy-prone, consider grabbing an allergy relief nasal spray before heading out, or wear a pollen count face mask during peak hours (usually late morning through afternoon).

A Heads-Up for Monday & Beyond

Here’s the catch: enjoy Sunday because a significant storm system is moving in Monday through Wednesday. The National Weather Service is forecasting a 50% chance of light rain after 11 AM Monday, with temperatures cooling to 73°F. More importantly, Monday night into Tuesday looks wet—we’re talking an 86% chance of rain and potentially 1 to 2 inches across the Valley, with heavier amounts (1.5 to 3 inches) in the Sierra foothills. Mountain snow is also expected, with snow levels dropping from 6,000–7,000 feet Monday down to 5,000–6,000 feet by Wednesday.

If you’re planning to catch the Sacramento Republic FC match against Philadelphia Union on Wednesday, April 22nd at BMO Field, keep an eye on the forecast—those wet conditions may still be lingering. You can grab tickets on SeatGeek or StubHub, and don’t forget a Sacramento Republic FC scarf to stay warm if the rain persists.

Dinner Idea

Since Sunday’s perfect for being outside, keep dinner simple and quick tonight. A light pasta primavera or stir-fry with fresh vegetables pairs beautifully with this mild weather—nothing too heavy when the day’s been so pleasant. Did you know you can order groceries on Amazon? Get everything you need for tonight’s dinner delivered straight to your door.

Next 3 Days: Enjoy Sunday’s sunshine while it lasts. Rain moves in Monday afternoon and stays through midweek, so plan indoor activities for Tuesday and Wednesday if you can.
