Portland is serving up one of late May’s finest Saturdays, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 68°F — get outside and make the most of it. Whether you’re hitting the trails, catching live music, or just soaking up the yard, today has your name on it.

Today’s Setup

High pressure is anchored over the Northeast Pacific, keeping things dry across the metro. The National Weather Service notes a weak shortwave trough passing through, but don’t stress — no rain is expected and any extra cloud cover this morning will be minimal. Light west-northwest winds of 1 to 8 mph keep it comfortable. Washington Park, the Waterfront, and Tom McCall Park are all calling.

If you’re angling for steelhead or bass on the Willamette this weekend, sunny and calm conditions make for ideal water time. Check out outdoor gear deals to stock up before you go, or grab Strike King KVD Crankbaits from $6 at Bass Pro Shops before you launch.

Best Window To Be Outside

The whole day is usable, but late morning through late afternoon — as temps climb toward 68°F — is the sweet spot. Trail runners in Forest Park should bring a hydration running vest; it’s warm enough to work up a real sweat up on the Leif Erikson trail.

One note for allergy sufferers: clear, dry, breezy days in the Willamette Valley send pollen counts soaring. Stash some allergy relief nasal spray in your bag before heading out, and if you’re especially sensitive, a pollen count face mask can make long outdoor stretches bearable. Back home, a HEPA air purifier will keep indoor air clean even with windows cracked open. A saline sinus rinse Neti pot kit at bedtime can also do wonders after a high-pollen day outside.

Tonight’s Events

Portland’s Saturday night lineup is stacked, and the mild evening weather makes every option better.

Sierra Ferrell plays McMenamins Historic Edgefield Manor tonight — one of the region’s best outdoor settings. Clear skies are forecast but temps will drop to around 46°F by late evening, so a jacket is a must. Find tickets on StubHub if you haven’t already.

The Portland Fire host the Indiana Fever at Moda Center tonight — an indoor game, so weather is irrelevant. Rep the team in your Official team gear on Fanatics and lock in your seat with Get tickets on SeatGeek.

Sunday and the Week Ahead

Sunday upgrades to full sun with a high near 73°F and northwest winds gusting to 22 mph. It’s an excellent day for the Oregon Ducks Baseball NCAA Baseball Regional at PK Park — pack a soft cooler backpack with snacks and sunscreen for the bleachers.

Looking further out: Bob Dylan w/ Lucinda Williams hits McMenamins Historic Edgefield Manor on June 4 — that outdoor venue will need a layer in the evening. Grab a Bob Dylan t-shirt to wear to the show. The National Weather Service is also flagging a warming trend mid-week, with Moderate HeatRisk possible in urban areas by Tuesday. A potential low-pressure system may approach Wednesday, but forecaster confidence remains low — enjoy the dry stretch while it lasts.

Dinner Tonight

A mild, clear evening is perfect for a no-fuss pasta or a quick stir-fry — something easy that lets you spend more time on the back porch than over the stove. Need ingredients? You can order groceries on Amazon and have everything delivered to your door before dinner.
