Phoenix is cooking under a dangerous 110°F high today with Extreme Heat Warnings in effect — if you have any outdoor plans, move them before 8 AM or after 8 PM, and make sure you’re carrying water.
For the full Phoenix weather forecast through the weekend, keep reading.
Today’s Setup
A stubborn subtropical high parked to our southeast is keeping the Valley locked in a furnace. Temperatures will blow past 100°F by mid-morning and peak near 110°F this afternoon before easing slightly to around 108°F later in the day. South winds run just 0–10 mph — not enough to help. The National Weather Service extended Extreme Heat Warnings partly because overnight lows refuse to drop below the upper 80s, preventing your body from recovering between hot days. Tonight’s low: around 86°F.
Rain? Not a factor. Precipitation probability sits at 2% — any shower activity is confined to the eastern Arizona high terrain and is expected to stay high-based and mostly dry.
Best Window To Be Outside
Before 8 AM is your window. After that, Camelback Mountain, South Mountain, and any outdoor errand become genuinely risky. A Yeti rambler water bottle should be in your hand all day — not optional in this heat.
If you’ve got a backyard pool, this is prime usage time — just keep up with chemistry. Pool chlorine test strips help you stay on top of water balance when the whole family is in the pool every day. And if you want a lazy-river experience without leaving home, check out this 2-Person Intex Floating Lounge with Cooler for just $24 — a serious summer steal.
Heat & Fire Risk
Today’s threat is heat. This weekend, fire danger takes center stage. The National Weather Service warns that critical fire weather conditions are expected Friday through Sunday as drier air sweeps in from southern California. Friday’s south winds of 0–15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph, combined with very low humidity, will create serious fire risk across the region. If you live near the urban-wildland interface, know your evacuation routes now.
Indoors, blackout curtains cut solar heat gain through windows and take real pressure off your AC — worth it when it’s 110°F outside.
Tonight & This Weekend’s Events
Good news: Phoenix’s best events this weekend are all indoors.
- Tonight (June 25): Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias performs at Gila River Resorts & Casinos – Wild Horse Pass. Air-conditioned, hilarious, and the perfect reason to leave the house after dark.
- Friday, June 26: The Nate Bargatze: Big Dumb Eyes World Tour lands at Mortgage Matchup Center, and 5 Seconds of Summer’s EVERYONE’S A STAR! World Tour hits Desert Diamond Arena. Grab a 5 Seconds of Summer t-shirt before the show, and snag seats via Get tickets on SeatGeek or Find tickets on StubHub.
- Saturday, June 27: Arizona Rattlers host the New Mexico Chupacabras at Desert Diamond Arena — indoor arena football, cold AC. Pick up Official team gear on Fanatics before tip-off.
- Monday, June 29: Arizona Diamondbacks host the San Francisco Giants at Chase Field. Chase Field’s retractable roof means climate-controlled baseball no matter what the thermometer says.
Dinner Tonight
With 110°F outside, skip the oven entirely. A quick stovetop stir-fry or a cold pasta salad prepped in the morning and served chilled are both smart calls — minimal heat, maximum ease. Need ingredients? You can order groceries on Amazon and have everything for tonight’s dinner delivered to your door.
Next Few Days
Friday stays brutal at 109°F with stronger winds and those fire weather concerns — stay alert for red flag warnings. The silver lining: the National Weather Service says temperatures will moderate through the weekend and slip to slightly below normal by Sunday. Hang tight, Phoenix — relief is on the way.
