As the front pushes through, showers and thunderstorms are likely between 2 and 5 PM ET, and the National Weather Service is carrying a Slight Risk for strong to severe storms. The main threat: damaging wind gusts, with the storms capable of producing them given steep low-level lapse rates and strong winds aloft. Southwest winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts near 35 mph will be with us all day regardless of storm activity.
