Philadelphia is stepping into June with sunshine and a high near 77°F today — but a weak back-door cold front will nudge through this afternoon, so keep an umbrella handy if you’re heading out after 4 PM ET.
Today’s Setup
Skies stay mostly sunny through midday across the city. The National Weather Service in Mount Holly is tracking a weak back-door cold front sliding south through the region this afternoon, with onshore flow and some mid-level energy in play. Isolated, light showers become possible after 4 PM ET — totals should stay well under a tenth of an inch, so this is no washout. Northeast winds climb to around 10 to 15 mph with gusts near 20 mph by afternoon. Inland Philadelphia tops off in the mid-to-upper 70s; the Jersey Shore and Delaware Beaches will run noticeably cooler.
Best Window To Be Outside
Morning through early afternoon is your sweet spot. The Schuylkill River Trail, a patio lunch in Rittenhouse Square, or a quick round at Cobbs Creek — aim to wrap it up by 3 PM ET. The shower odds climb after that. By 7 PM ET tonight, showers clear out, skies turn mostly clear, and overnight lows settle near a comfortable 52°F.
No Severe Weather Risk
The Storm Prediction Center has no active severe weather outlook for the Philadelphia area today. The Weather Prediction Center’s excessive rainfall risk is centered on the Northern Rockies and Mid-South — nowhere near us. Low-drama day on the weather front.
Phillies vs. Padres — Three Games at Citizens Bank Park
Big week for the red pinstripes. The Phillies host the San Diego Padres at Citizens Bank Park for three home games: Tuesday June 2, Wednesday June 3, and Thursday June 4. Tuesday looks like the gem of the series — sunny, high near 76°F, and barely a breeze. Tailgating down Pattison Avenue should be excellent. Rep the team right in a Philadelphia Phillies jersey and a Philadelphia Phillies fitted cap. Get tickets on SeatGeek or Find tickets on StubHub for any game in the series.
Concerts This Week
A$AP Rocky brings his Don’t Be Dumb World Tour to Xfinity Mobile Arena on Thursday, June 4 — fully indoors, so no weather worries. Throw on an A$AP Rocky t-shirt and lock in seats early. On Wednesday June 3, the Baby Keem - The Ca$ino Tour rolls into The Fillmore Philadelphia — another covered evening, rain or shine.
