Orlando weather today is mostly sunny with a high near 86°F and east winds at 5 to 10 mph—a pleasant start to your week, but with an important safety alert you need to know about.

The National Weather Service has flagged sensitive fire weather conditions across central Florida today through Thursday, so if you’re planning any outdoor grilling, campfires, or yard work around the theme park corridor and beyond, take extra precautions. Dry conditions and low humidity will make any spark a real concern. Keep a fire blanket kitchen and smoke detector combo pack in your home, and if you’re doing any outdoor cooking—whether at home in Winter Park, near the Kia Center, or out at one of our local parks—stay vigilant.

Tonight will be pleasant, dropping to around 68°F with partly cloudy skies and east-southeast winds at 5 to 15 mph. No rain expected—perfect if you’re heading to tonight’s Ashnikko: Smoochies Tour at Hard Rock Live Orlando.

The real story unfolds Wednesday and Thursday, when temperatures spike into the low to mid 90s. Wednesday hits 94°F with mostly sunny skies and nearly calm winds (5 mph from the south-southeast), and Thursday climbs to 96°F under full sun. These are near-record territory for early May, so hydrate constantly if you’re at Disney, Universal, or SeaWorld. Grab an insulated water bottle and plan your park visits for early morning or late evening when it’s cooler.

If you’re heading out to fish at one of our local spots or planning a round at one of Orlando’s courses, Wednesday and Thursday mornings are ideal—get out early before the heat peaks. Check out our guide on best fishing kayaks under $1,000 in 2026 if you’re thinking about hitting the water.

Fire danger remains elevated through Thursday, so consider keeping a fireproof document safe with important papers, and have a go bag emergency evacuation kit ready just in case. If you live in an area prone to brush fires, an N95 respirator mask smoke is smart to have on hand.

Friday into the weekend, rain chances begin to rise as a front approaches and stalls just north of the area. Highs stay above normal, but we’ll finally get some moisture relief.

For dinner tonight, a simple grilled pasta with fresh vegetables works perfectly in this warm, dry weather—just keep that grill attended. You can order groceries on Amazon and have everything delivered to your door in time for an evening meal.
