Orlando Weather Today: Mostly Sunny 79°F With Gusty Northeast Winds

7-Day Forecast

Today🌤️79°Mostly Sunny
Tue☀️81°Sunny
Wed80°Partly Sunny
Thu🌤️82°Mostly Sunny
Fri☀️85°Sunny
Sat⛈️89°Sunny then S...
Sun⛈️89°Mostly Sunny...

Orlando weather today is mostly sunny with a high near 79°F, but don’t let those gusty northeast winds catch you off guard—sustained winds around 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph are expected throughout the day.

It’s a classic spring day here in Central Florida, and while the sunshine is gorgeous, that breezy wind is the real story. A cold front pushed through early this morning, and we’re riding that cooler, drier air for the next couple of days. If you’re planning to hit the parks—whether that’s Magic Kingdom, Epcot, or Universal Orlando—conditions are excellent. Just bring a light jacket for later this afternoon and evening when temps drop into the low 60s.

What to do today:

This is prime golfing weather. The wind will keep you cool on the course, and the mostly sunny skies mean great visibility. If you’re heading to one of Orlando’s excellent courses around the I-4 corridor or out toward Kissimmee, you couldn’t ask for better conditions.

Beach and boating conditions are deteriorating rapidly due to those gusty winds, so if you’re planning a trip to the coast—Cocoa Beach or Port Canaveral—save it for later in the week. The National Weather Service is calling conditions poor to hazardous through at least Wednesday.

For theme park guests: the wind may affect some outdoor attractions and parades, so plan accordingly. Afternoon thunderstorms are not expected today (only a 1% chance of rain), which is a nice break from our typical spring pattern.

Tonight and Tuesday:

Mostly clear skies tonight with lows around 61°F—great sleeping weather if you crack a window. Tuesday looks even nicer: sunny, 81°F, and those gusty winds gradually ease. By Wednesday, we’ll see partly sunny skies and temps near 80°F.

Heads up for soccer fans: Orlando City SC takes on Charlotte FC at Inter&Co Stadium on Wednesday, April 22. Conditions will be pleasant for tailgating—partly sunny, 80°F, and light winds. Perfect for setting up a pre-game spread.

Tonight’s dinner idea:

This is perfect grilling weather. Fire up the grill for burgers, steaks, or grilled chicken with corn on the cob. Those gusty winds mean your grill will stay cool and efficient. Grab a quality grill brush and an instant-read meat thermometer to make sure everything cooks perfectly. Did you know you can order groceries on Amazon? Get everything you need for tonight’s dinner—steaks, corn, seasonings, and charcoal—delivered straight to your door.

With the beautiful weather and low rain chances, this is also the time to invest in some outdoor living upgrades. A propane gas grill, patio furniture set, or even a hammock with stand will get plenty of use over the next few months.

Looking ahead: Enjoy the next two days—this is some of the best spring weather Orlando gets. By Thursday, moisture levels will start creeping back up, and we’ll return to our typical afternoon storm pattern.
