Orlando starts Sunday, June 14 under mostly sunny skies with a high near 93°F — but the heat index will push the feels-like temperature to as high as 102°F, and afternoon storms are on schedule to develop after 2 PM ET. Whether you’re headed to Disney, Universal, or SeaWorld today, front-load your outdoor time and have an indoor plan ready by lunch.

Today’s Setup

A classic Central Florida sea breeze pattern is in control. Light west-southwest winds (5 to 10 mph) will keep things manageable this morning before the afternoon sea breeze collision fires storms across the eastern peninsula. The National Weather Service warns of frequent lightning strikes, gusty winds of 40 to 50 mph, and quick downpours of 2 to 3 inches with slower-moving storms — enough to cause significant ponding on roadways and poorly drained surfaces. Activity should taper off mid-to-late evening, with mostly dry and partly cloudy conditions overnight and a low around 77°F.

Best Window To Be Outside

Get your outdoor time in before 1 PM ET. Morning walks around Lake Eola, early park entry at Universal Studios, or a round of golf near Dr. Phillips are all solid choices. After 2 PM ET, storm chances hit 40% and conditions deteriorate fast. Carry an umbrella into the parks — Florida afternoon storms can go from sunny to soaked in minutes. An insulated tumbler 30oz will keep your water ice-cold during those hot morning hours.

Heat Risk

The National Weather Service is flagging a Moderate to Major HeatRisk for Central Florida today. Heat index values reaching 102°F are dangerous, especially for kids, elderly visitors, and anyone spending long hours at the theme parks. Hydrate constantly, take air-conditioned breaks between noon and 4 PM ET, and never leave pets or children in parked vehicles. At home, a portable window AC unit or a dehumidifier for home can make evening recovery much more bearable.

Concerts Tonight and This Week

Tonight is stacked for music fans — and all of it is indoors, so the storms won’t ruin your evening. A$AP Rocky brings the Don’t Be Dumb World Tour to Kia Center tonight, June 14. Grab an A$AP Rocky t-shirt for the show or Find tickets on StubHub if you’re still on the fence. Wale & Smino also play Hard Rock Live Orlando tonight with their Everything Is A Lot… The Tour.

Looking ahead: Killswitch Engage hits Hard Rock Live Orlando on Monday, June 16. Then the 5 Seconds of Summer: EVERYONE’S A STAR! World Tour rolls into Kia Center on Wednesday, June 17 — pick up a 5 Seconds of Summer t-shirt or grab tickets on SeatGeek before it sells out.

Too Hot to Cook Tonight

Skip the stove entirely — it’s smoothie bowl weather. Blend frozen fruit, yogurt, and toppings in a high-powered blender and dinner is done in five minutes without heating up your kitchen. Keep drinks cold all evening in an insulated tumbler 30oz. Need supplies? You can order groceries on Amazon and have everything delivered to your door today.

Next Few Days

Monday looks nearly identical — high near 92°F with another round of afternoon storms possible after 2 PM ET (30% chance). This summer sea breeze cycle is locked in for the foreseeable future, so plan each day around the same pattern: mornings are golden, afternoons get stormy. Check the Orlando weather forecast each morning for updated timing.

Beach note: The National Weather Service warns of a moderate risk of life-threatening rip currents at all central Florida Atlantic beaches this weekend. Swim only near a lifeguard and never enter the water alone.
