Minneapolis–St. Paul wakes up to one of the best Saturdays of June: sunny skies, a high near 75°F, and light northwest winds of 5 to 10 mph — get outside and enjoy it. After yesterday’s severe storms scrubbed the air clean, the Minneapolis weather forecast couldn’t look much better for a mid-June Saturday.

Today’s Setup

Post-storm clearing and a light northwesterly flow leave us with wall-to-wall sunshine through the afternoon. Temperatures climb to near 75°F — a touch below the late-June average, but nobody’s complaining when the sky is that shade of blue. Overnight, partly cloudy skies drift in and temps ease to a comfortable low around 55°F. Crack a window and sleep well.

Best Window To Be Outside

The whole day is fair game. Lake Harriet, Minnehaha Park, and the trails along the Mississippi River will be buzzing, and deservedly so. Winds are light enough to relax outdoors without fighting gusts, though a pop-up canopy tent with weights is always smart near breezy lake spots. Golfers, anglers, and paddlers — all-day green light. Heading out on the water? The 2-Person Intex Floating Lounge with Cooler Just $24 on Amazon is practically made for days like this.

Rain or Severe Weather Risk

No risk today. The National Weather Service notes a few showers are possible across southern Minnesota on Sunday — a nuisance, not a soaker. The bigger story arrives Tuesday, when a cold front pushes through and brings widespread showers and below-normal temperatures to the Twin Cities. Lock in your major outdoor plans for today and Sunday morning before the pattern shifts.

Tonight’s Concerts — Pack a Light Layer

Tonight is stacked at multiple venues. Don Toliver’s Octane Tour plays Target Center, Taking Back Sunday with Special Guest Bayside hits Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, and Morris Day and the Time headlines Setting the Stage: An Evening of MN Music, Comedy & Community at Mystic Lake Amphitheater. Temps drop toward 55°F by late evening, so bring a light jacket if you’re heading to any outdoor venues. Get tickets on SeatGeek or Find tickets on StubHub.

Looking ahead, the Minnesota Twins host the Los Angeles Dodgers at Target Field on June 22 (Native American Heritage Night) and June 23. Monday’s game looks about as good as outdoor baseball gets — mostly sunny, near 78°F, and barely any wind. Head down to the ballpark in a Minnesota Twins jersey and a Minnesota Twins fitted cap. Also on June 22, MGK’s Lost Americana Tour hits Mystic Lake Amphitheater, and Dave Matthews Band plays Mystic Lake Amphitheater on June 23 — both outdoor shows look weather-friendly right now.

Fire Up the Grill

Today’s forecast is a grilling greenlight. Burgers, steaks, or grilled chicken with corn on the cob all shine at 75°F and full sun with a light breeze. Keep an instant-read meat thermometer handy to nail every temperature and a grill brush and scraper set to keep your grates clean all summer. Need ingredients? You can order groceries on Amazon and have everything for tonight’s dinner delivered right to your door.

Next Few Days

Sunday: Partly sunny, high near 76°F — another solid day, with a slight shower chance for southern Minnesota. Monday: Mostly sunny, near 78°F, light breeze — the best outdoor window of the early week and ideal for that Twins game. Tuesday onward: A cold front brings widespread showers and below-normal temperatures; the National Weather Service expects that cool, unsettled pattern to hold through much of next week, with possible signs of a ridge building back toward the Upper Midwest by next weekend.
