Miami weather today is mostly sunny with a high near 77°F, but don’t let that fool you—gusty east winds are the real story, with gusts reaching 23 mph throughout the day.

High pressure is firmly in control of South Florida right now, and our National Weather Service forecasters say those tight pressure gradients will keep the wind cranked up through the end of the work week. If you’re heading to Wynwood, Brickell, or anywhere downtown, expect to hold onto your hat. More importantly, if you’re planning a beach day at South Pointe Park, Miami Beach, or Coral Gables Waterfront Park, the National Weather Service has issued a HIGH RISK of rip currents for all Atlantic beaches today. This is serious stuff—if you’re swimming, stay near lifeguards and never fight the current if caught in one.

Hazardous marine conditions continue this morning for Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic waters, so if you’re thinking about taking a boat out from Government Cut or heading offshore for fishing, wait until late morning when conditions ease slightly. That said, this afternoon is actually a decent fishing window if you’re patient—the dry air aloft and light moisture filtering in means we’ll stay mostly dry, with less than a tenth of an inch of rain possible through Thursday.

Perfect grilling weather today. Fire up your propane gas grill for burgers, steaks, or grilled chicken with corn on the cob. If you’re setting up an outdoor spread, consider investing in a patio furniture set and some outdoor string lights to make your backyard gathering spot shine. The wind will keep things cool while you cook, which beats the typical Miami heat.

Tonight stays partly cloudy with a low around 72°F and continued gusty winds. Thursday brings a slight chance of rain showers between 8 AM and 2 PM (only 20% chance), with highs near 77°F again. The wind gradually relaxes as we move through the week.

If you’re heading out to catch Diana Krall at the Orpheum Theatre tonight, grab a Diana Krall t-shirt or Diana Krall hat to complete your concert look—and you’ll want to layer up for those breezy conditions walking to and from the venue.

Looking ahead: Friday and the weekend stay dry with gradually diminishing winds. Temperatures hold in the upper 70s to low 80s. It’s a great setup for outdoor plans, whether you’re exploring the Everglades, hitting up a beach day, or enjoying the patios around Wynwood and Design District.

Perfect grilling weather means dinner tonight should be easy: fire up that propane gas grill for burgers, steaks, or grilled chicken. Pair it with fresh corn on the cob and a cold beverage.
