Miami is kicking off Thursday with wall-to-wall sunshine and a high near 86°F — a gorgeous South Florida morning that comes with one major safety alert you shouldn’t ignore. Check the full Miami weather forecast before heading out the door.

Today’s Setup

An upper-level ridge has locked South Florida into clear, dry conditions today. Easterly winds around 13 mph with gusts near 18 mph will keep it breezy along Biscayne Bay and the barrier islands, but don’t mistake “breezy” for “cool.” The National Weather Service warns heat indices will climb into the upper 90s to near 100°F each afternoon this week. Limit strenuous outdoor work between noon and 4 PM ET, drink water constantly, and never leave kids or pets in a parked car.

Rip Current Warning — Stay Safe at the Beach

This is the most critical item of the day: the National Weather Service has issued a high risk of rip currents along all Atlantic Coast beaches through this evening. That covers South Beach, Haulover Beach Park, Sunny Isles, and Hollywood Beach. Swim only where lifeguards are on duty, obey all red flags, and if you get caught in a current, swim parallel to shore — not against it. Conditions should improve Friday as the pattern shifts.

Best Window To Be Outside

Get your outdoor time in before noon. Golfers at Crandon Park Golf Course and kayakers around Key Biscayne will love the calm morning feel. For sun protection, check out the UPF 50+ Fishing Shirts for $6.50 — hard to beat at that price for a full day outside. The easterly flow is also kicking up pollen today; if you’re an allergy sufferer, keep an allergy relief nasal spray in your bag and consider running a HEPA air purifier at home while the AC is cranking.

Tonight’s Events

Tonight is packed in Miami. The Miami Marlins host the Atlanta Braves at loanDepot park under warm, mostly clear skies — lows will only ease to around 82°F, so tailgating will be comfortable and sticky. Deck out in a Miami Marlins jersey or pull on a Miami Marlins fitted cap before you go. Still need seats? Get tickets on SeatGeek or Find tickets on StubHub.

Also tonight at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood: the CAZZU: LATINAJE EN VIVO concert. It’s indoors, so no weather concerns — just a great Thursday night out.

Next Few Days

Friday holds near 86°F with mostly sunny skies through early afternoon, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 PM ET — the National Weather Service puts that chance at 20%, so keep an umbrella handy for evening plans. The Marlins host the New York Mets on Friday, and the Reggae Fest Presents Alkaline festival lands at Kaseya Center Friday night. Saturday brings another Marlins-Mets game plus the Carlos Vives Tour Al Sol at Kaseya Center — both doable, just watch for afternoon storm chances as the weekend unfolds.

Tonight’s dinner: Keep the kitchen cool with a quick pasta primavera — olive oil, fresh veggies, and you’re out the door before first pitch. You can order groceries on Amazon and have everything delivered well before game time.
