Watch for patchy fog in the early-morning hours, especially near the bayous, so give yourself extra time on the commute. Once that clears, late morning before 11 AM CT is your best stretch for yard work, a walk along Buffalo Bayou, or an early tee time before the heat index spikes in early-to-mid afternoon.

Today’s isolated storm chance after 4 PM CT is low, and the Weather Prediction Center’s excessive rainfall outlook doesn’t flag the Houston/Gulf Coast area for flash flooding today — that risk is centered over the Southeast instead. The bigger hazard here is heat: forecasters are watching for Heat Advisories later this week as heat index values threaten to top 108°F. Check on elderly neighbors, never leave kids or pets in the car, and take breaks in the shade.
