Denver weather today is sunny and 72°F—one of those classic spring days that makes you remember why we love living here. Overnight lows dipped to just 37°F with partly cloudy skies, but Sunday morning is shaping up to be absolutely gorgeous, with mostly clear conditions and light southeast winds at just 2 to 8 mph.

This is an ideal day to get outside. Whether you’re heading to Coors Field for the Rockies-Dodgers matchup at 1:10 PM MT or catching the Avalanche playoff game at Ball Arena, the weather won’t be a factor—though baseball fans should definitely take advantage of those sunny skies. Tailgating conditions are excellent with temperatures warming into the low 70s by afternoon and virtually zero chance of rain. Grab a lightweight Colorado Rockies jersey or fitted cap to stay comfortable in the sun, and don’t forget sunscreen—our high altitude means UV rays are stronger than you’d think.

The National Weather Service forecasters are tracking a significant warming trend building into our forecast. By Monday, we’ll hit near 79°F with mostly sunny skies, and that warmth continues through Wednesday. However, here’s the heads-up: critical fire weather conditions are expected to develop by Wednesday as temperatures soar 20°F above normal with dry conditions and gusty winds. If you’re planning outdoor grilling or any yard work, get it done early in the week before those dangerous fire conditions arrive.

One thing to watch this time of year—spring allergies. With our warming trend and increased outdoor activity, pollen counts typically spike. If you’re sensitive, consider keeping an allergy relief nasal spray handy, and if you’re spending extended time outside, a pollen count face mask can help. For those heading indoors after a day at the ballpark, an air quality monitor can help you track indoor air quality, especially as we approach that fire weather window.

Sunday night will be cool and clear, dropping to around 42°F with westerly winds picking up slightly to 3-8 mph. It’s perfect sleeping weather if you crack that window open.

Looking ahead, the pattern changes significantly by Thursday as Pacific storm systems move in, bringing unsettled weather through the end of the week. So make the most of these next few days—they’re going to be spectacular.

With such beautiful weather, tonight calls for something you can enjoy on the patio. Fire up the grill for some lean Colorado beef or fresh vegetables—the light winds won’t blow out your flames, and the mild evening temperature means you won’t freeze while cooking. Pair it with a simple pasta salad or grilled asparagus. Did you know you can order groceries on Amazon? Get everything you need for tonight’s dinner delivered straight to your door.
