Denver is heading into one of its hottest Saturdays of the year with highs near 95°F and a slight chance of gusty afternoon storms after 3 PM MT — get your outdoor time in early and keep your radar app handy.

Today’s Setup

The Denver weather forecast has the Front Range locked under a strong upper-level ridge. Mostly sunny skies dominate through midday, with south-southeast winds at 2 to 13 mph and gusts up to 22 mph. The National Weather Service notes Denver could come within striking distance of the record high of 95°F last set in 2018 — this is a genuine heat day for the Mile High City.

Best Window To Be Outside

Morning is your sweet spot. Washington Park, the Cherry Creek Trail, and Sloan’s Lake will all be comfortable before 10 AM. After 3 PM MT, isolated storms may fire up, and when they do the National Weather Service warns of outflow winds reaching 50 mph, possible small hail, and briefly heavy rain. Storm odds sit around 20% — not every neighborhood gets hit, but any cell that develops will be intense.

Tonight’s Events: Outdoor Venues on Watch

Mumford & Sons play Folsom Field Stadium tonight — a fully open-air venue. The storm window runs through roughly 9 PM MT before skies go partly cloudy and temperatures drop to a pleasant 61°F. Arrive with a soft cooler backpack loaded with water and check radar around 2 PM MT for the latest timing. Odds are in your favor, but stay aware.

Also tonight at the Paramount Theatre: Joe Jackson brings the Hope and Fury Tour to Denver. It’s indoors, so zero weather concerns — grab tickets on SeatGeek and pick up a Joe Jackson t-shirt or Joe Jackson hoodie to wear to the show.

The Harry Potter and the Cursed Child touring production continues at the Buell Theatre — fully climate-controlled, a welcome escape from the heat.

Sunday: Rockies at Coors Field

Sunday delivers another near-95°F day, but drier with more downslope flow and just a 3% storm chance. The Colorado Rockies host the Milwaukee Brewers at Coors Field on June 7 under mostly sunny skies — near-ideal baseball conditions. Tailgate confidently, but pack your Colorado Rockies fitted cap and sunscreen. Wear your Colorado Rockies jersey and find tickets on StubHub if you still need seats.

Fire Danger and Garden Care

Critical fire weather conditions are expected across portions of Colorado’s eastern plains today, per the National Weather Service. Southerly breezes and low humidity create dangerous drying conditions for fuel-prone areas. If you’re in drier suburban or foothills neighborhoods, water down your yard before heading out. A soaker hose for garden beds running overnight helps protect landscaping heading into what looks like a multi-day heat and dryness stretch.

Dinner Tonight

With this heat, keep it light and fast — pasta primavera or a simple stir-fry won’t heat up the kitchen for long. Need ingredients? You can order groceries on Amazon and have everything for tonight’s dinner delivered to your door.

Next Few Days

A brief respite arrives Monday before heat rebuilds Tuesday — the National Weather Service warns of near-100°F possible on the northeast plains by midweek. Heat relief looks possible late next week. Keep an eye on your Denver weather forecast as that pattern develops.
