Dallas–Fort Worth is in for a warm Tuesday with a high near 89°F and mostly cloudy skies, but a cold front arriving by mid-afternoon will bring a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 PM CT.

Here’s what the National Weather Service is telling us: moist southerly winds will keep our area warm through the afternoon, but a developing cold front will drift into North Texas by mid-afternoon. The Storm Prediction Center notes that a few strong to severe storms are possible near and east of Interstate 35, though a strong capping inversion and unfavorable wind shear may limit the overall severe weather potential. Most activity should stay isolated to scattered, with the best window for storms between 4 PM and 10 PM CT.

If you’re heading to tonight’s events—like the Florence + The Machine concert at Dickies Arena or Wicked (Touring) at the Music Hall At Fair Park—bring an umbrella just in case. Grab a Florence + The Machine t-shirt at the venue to commemorate the night. Temperatures will drop to around 64°F by Wednesday morning, with a slight chance of showers before 1 AM CT.

For outdoor plans today, the morning and early afternoon are your sweet spot. If you’re thinking golf, head out before 2 PM CT—the winds will pick up to 15 mph with gusts to 30 mph as the front approaches, making conditions trickier. Check out our guide to the best golf balls for high handicappers in 2026 if you’re looking to upgrade your game. Pair them with some golf shorts men and a golf polo shirt men for comfort on the course.

Fishing looks decent early in the day—the slight breeze from the south is manageable, and the cloud cover will keep things comfortable. If you’re heading out to one of the area’s lakes around Arlington or beyond, a fishing net foldable will help you land your catch.

Perfect grilling weather is here before the storms roll in. Fire up the grill this afternoon for burgers, steaks, or grilled chicken with corn on the cob. Grab an instant-read meat thermometer and a grill brush and scraper set to keep your setup in top shape. You’ll want a propane gas grill if you don’t already have one—this is the season to make the most of it.

Need ingredients? You can order groceries on Amazon and have everything for tonight’s dinner delivered to your door.

Wednesday will be cooler with highs near 79°F and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 7 AM CT. By Thursday and Friday, expect mostly dry conditions with temperatures near or below normal—a refreshing break from the heat. This weekend looks pleasant, perfect for outdoor activities and those concerts happening at Dickies Arena and beyond.
