Baltimore is looking at a warm, mostly dry Tuesday with a high near 87°F under partly sunny skies and just a 1% chance of rain — but the National Weather Service says that changes fast after dark, so get your outdoor plans in early before a flash flood risk moves in overnight.

Today’s Setup

A stalled frontal boundary sitting over southern Virginia is keeping most of the Baltimore metro dry through the afternoon, with a light northeast wind around 7 mph. NWS Baltimore/Washington forecasters note a cutoff low over the Deep South will retrograde north this evening, dragging that boundary north as a warm front tonight.

Best Window To Be Outside

Late morning through mid-afternoon is your window today — warm sun, light breeze, dry pavement. Good stretch for the Inner Harbor promenade, Fort McHenry, or an early trip to Camden Yards before storm chances build in.

Rain, Flood Risk Tonight

The warm front pushes slow-moving showers and thunderstorms into the Baltimore area tonight into Wednesday morning, with a low around 72°F and chance of precipitation near 40%. The Area Forecast Discussion flags a real concern for localized urban flooding, since any storm that stalls could dump rain quickly — the Weather Prediction Center has the Mid-Atlantic, including Baltimore, in a Marginal Risk for excessive rainfall through Wednesday morning. Wednesday itself brings showers and thunderstorms likely before 2 PM ET, a high near 86°F, and a 60% chance of rain, with another round possible before 2 AM ET Wednesday night (low 75°F, 50% chance). If you’re near Jones Falls or other low-lying spots overnight, avoid flooded roads and keep an eye on alerts.

What To Wear Or Bring

Light, breathable clothes for today’s heat and rising humidity ahead of tonight’s front. Heading to a game or the water this week? A rolling cooler with wheels makes hauling drinks and snacks across parking lots a lot easier.

Orioles Gameday & This Week’s Events

The Baltimore Orioles host the Los Angeles Angels at Camden Yards tonight (Aug. 4), with dry, warm conditions for tailgating and first pitch before storm chances rise later in the evening. The series continues Aug. 5 and Aug. 6, both with a much wetter forecast. Suit up in a Baltimore Orioles jersey or Baltimore Orioles fitted cap and grab [Get tickets on SeatGeek] for the series. Looking ahead, Barry Manilow plays CFG Bank Arena Aug. 7 (Barry Manilow t-shirt, [Find tickets on StubHub]), and BTS brings the BTS Arirang concert guide tour to M&T Bank Stadium Aug. 10.

Dinner Idea

With storms rolling in tonight, keep dinner simple and quick — pasta or a stir-fry both work whether you’re eating before or after the rain arrives. Need ingredients? You can order groceries on Amazon and stock up on Amazon Fresh groceries for tonight’s meal without a trip out in the rain.

Next Few Days

Expect daily shower and thunderstorm chances to continue Wednesday through early next week, per the NWS. Check outdoor gear deals for sun protection on the drier stretches, including a UPF 50+ Sun Hoodie deal worth a look before the next dry window opens up.

Upcoming Home Games

Plan around the forecast — grab tickets, gear up, and see kickoff conditions.
