Baltimore is waking up to one of the nicest summer days of the season — sunny skies, a high near 90°F, and humidity that’s actually manageable for a change. Saturday, June 13 is the day to be outside in Charm City before a more dangerous weather setup rolls in Sunday.
Today’s Setup
According to the National Weather Service, dewpoints are dropping into the upper 50s and low 60s today — a welcome break from the muggy air we’ve been dealing with. Temps climb to near 90°F under mostly sunny skies with a light northwest wind around 6 mph. It’ll feel much more like a classic summer afternoon than a heat emergency. Zero chance of rain all day.
Best Window To Be Outside
The whole day is open. Walk the Inner Harbor promenade, squeeze in 18 holes at any course around the metro, or finally tackle that yard work. Slip on a pair of men’s sport sandals and make a full day of it. Try to wrap up outdoor chores before 2 PM ET as temps hit their peak. Anglers: today is prime time on the Chesapeake — grab a tackle box deal before heading out to the Bay. Whatever you’re doing, pack an insulated tumbler 30oz — staying hydrated matters when it’s 90.
Orioles Gameday at Camden Yards
The Baltimore Orioles host the San Diego Padres at Oriole Park at Camden Yards today, and the weather could not cooperate more. Sunny, near 90°F, and lower humidity make for a classic summer ballgame. Check out our full gameday weather breakdown before you head down to the Yards. Show up in a Baltimore Orioles jersey or a Baltimore Orioles fitted cap and look the part. Need last-minute seats? Get tickets on SeatGeek.
Heads up for Sunday’s game: The Orioles and Padres go at it again Sunday afternoon — read the storm section below before making plans.
Sunday’s Severe Storm Threat
Enjoy Saturday fully, because Sunday is a different story. The National Weather Service has Baltimore under a Level 2 out of 5 (Slight Risk) for severe thunderstorms, and forecasters have noted that an upgrade to Level 3 out of 5 (Enhanced Risk) is possible as Sunday approaches. Storms are expected to develop around noon ET, with the peak threat between noon and 4 PM ET. Southerly winds will pump in deep moisture, pushing dewpoints near 70°F — that’s Gulf Coast-level humidity — combined with increasing instability and wind shear. The primary hazard is damaging wind gusts. Stay tuned to National Weather Service updates before heading anywhere outdoors Sunday.
Tonight’s Events
Saturday night is made for live music. Jordan Davis plays Pier Six Pavilion on June 13 — that Inner Harbor amphitheater will be comfortable as temperatures ease off the afternoon peak by showtime. Jill Scott brings her To Whom This May Concern Tour to The Theater at MGM National Harbor on June 13. Find tickets on StubHub for either show. If you’re going full fan mode for Jill, a Jill Scott t-shirt is a perfect summer night look.
What’s for Dinner
It’s too hot to run the oven tonight. Make smoothie bowls, a cold Thai noodle salad, or a build-your-own wrap bar instead — all quick, cool, and satisfying in 90°F heat. A high-powered blender makes smoothie bowls effortless. Need ingredients? You can order groceries on Amazon and have everything delivered right to your door.
Next Few Days
After Sunday’s storms push through, Monday brings a cooler, drier reset. The National Weather Service is already watching Thursday for another return of warm, humid conditions and potentially strong thunderstorms. Enjoy the calm early week while it lasts, and check back for updates as Thursday’s setup comes into sharper focus.
