South and east of that line — which covers most of the city — rain chances run 50-70%, while areas to the northwest stay mostly dry. The citywide base forecast still lists around a 30% chance, with west wind holding light around 7 mph. With PWATs above 2 inches, any storm that fires will be an efficient rain-maker.
Rain, Storms & Flash Flood Risk
This isn’t garden-variety summer rain. NWS forecasters are flagging flash flood potential if a storm parks over an urban area or a spot with poor drainage — think low-lying stretches near downtown or Fells Point. The Weather Prediction Center has a Slight Risk of excessive rainfall posted today from New Jersey to Massachusetts, and while Baltimore sits just south of that zone, we’re close enough that a slow-moving cell could still dump quick, heavy rain. Expect roughly a tenth to a quarter inch citywide, more if a storm trains overhead. The front clears by evening, dropping tonight’s low to near 69°F under partly cloudy skies.
Best Window To Be Outside

Tuesday is the pick of the week — partly sunny, high near 86°F, just a 4% rain chance, and a lighter northeast wind around 7 mph.
