Sat⛈️80°Showers And ...

Atlanta weather today brings a chance of morning showers followed by partly sunny skies and breezy conditions, with a high near 67°F and northwest winds gusting to 35 mph.

A cold front is pushing through north and central Georgia this morning, bringing scattered showers that should clear out by around 8 AM. Don’t expect much rain—most of Atlanta will see less than 0.05 inches, though northwest areas toward the mountains might pick up a bit more. If you’re heading out early to Piedmont Park or anywhere around Buckhead, grab a compact travel umbrella just in case, but you’ll likely be fine.

What to Expect Today & Tonight

Once those morning showers clear, conditions improve fast. Skies will turn partly sunny by mid-morning, but here’s the thing: it’s going to be windy. Northwest winds at 15–20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph will make it feel cooler than the actual temperature. This is critical fire weather territory—the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for this afternoon and evening. If you’re planning any outdoor burning or grilling, postpone it. The dry air and gusty winds create dangerous fire conditions across the metro.

Tonight will be clear and cool, dropping to around 48°F by Monday morning. Perfect sleeping weather if you crack a window.

Looking Ahead to Monday & Beyond

Monday shapes up beautifully. Sunny skies, a high near 75°F, and winds calming down a bit. It’s an excellent day to get outside—hit the links at one of Atlanta’s courses, take a walk around the Beltline, or just enjoy some time at a local park. The warming trend continues through the week, with temperatures climbing into the 80s by midweek.

For This Week’s Events

Atlanta United FC takes on the New England Revolution at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Wednesday, April 22. Weather looks fantastic for tailgating—sunny, mid-70s, and dry. Pack sunscreen and a light jacket for the evening kickoff.

The Hawks vs. Knicks playoff game on April 23 at State Farm Arena is indoors, so weather won’t affect you there. But if you’re heading downtown, expect pleasant conditions—mid-70s and mostly sunny.

For the Jason Aldean and Luke Combs concert at Sanford Stadium on Saturday, April 25, plan for warm weather in the low 80s. Bring a packable rain jacket just in case—there’s a slight chance of showers late in the week, though nothing severe is expected.

Comfort Food for a Breezy Day

With those gusty winds and cool temps, today’s the perfect day for slow cooker chili or a hearty beef stew simmering away while you stay cozy inside. Let the oven do the work—a programmable slow cooker makes it effortless. Did you know you can order groceries on Amazon? Get everything you need for tonight’s dinner—ground beef, beans, spices, and broth—delivered straight to your door.

Fire Safety Reminder

With the Red Flag Warning in effect through the evening, keep all open flames away from dry vegetation. No backyard burns, no outdoor grilling today. Stay safe out there, Atlanta.

Check back tomorrow for an updated Atlanta weather forecast as we head into a beautiful stretch of spring weather.
