Atlanta is waking up to one of the more pleasant June Mondays in recent memory — a high near 84°F, partly sunny skies, and rain chances near zero. Take advantage of it, because a wetter pattern arrives as soon as Tuesday.
Today’s Setup
A cold front is slowly pushing through the metro this morning, replacing Atlanta’s typical summer mugginess with drier, more comfortable air. The National Weather Service says dewpoints will stay in the 60s, and northwest winds around 10 mph — with gusts up to 20 mph — will keep things breezy. Rain chances are just 2%. Compare that to central Georgia, where heat indices in the upper 90s are possible today: Atlanta is catching a real break.
Best Window To Be Outside
The BeltLine, Piedmont Park, and Stone Mountain will all be gorgeous this afternoon. Golfers in particular should jump on today — conditions are about as good as Atlanta gets in mid-June. Consider golf shoes men waterproof for morning rounds when the fairways are still dewy, and Pinemeadow Golf hybrids are a solid upgrade if your clubs need refreshing.
Tonight, the 2026 World Cup comes to Atlanta as Spain takes on Cabo Verde in the Group H match at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Skies will be mostly cloudy but dry — a comfortable evening to be downtown.
Tuesday: Showers and Storms Move In
Tuesday brings a noticeable shift. Showers develop between 10 AM and 2 PM ET, with scattered thunderstorms possible in the afternoon and into the evening. Rain chances hit 40% during the day and climb to 60% overnight. The National Weather Service notes a sharp surge of moisture along the stalled frontal boundary — keep the umbrella within reach.
The Atlanta Braves open a home series against the San Francisco Giants at Truist Park on Tuesday, June 16, with games also on Wednesday (June 17) and Thursday (June 18). Bring a rain plan for Tuesday. Deck out in an Atlanta Braves jersey and Atlanta Braves fitted cap for the series, and Find tickets on StubHub or Get tickets on SeatGeek if you still need seats.
Tuesday night, 5 Seconds of Summer bring their EVERYONE’S A STAR! World Tour to State Farm Arena — fully indoors, so no weather stress. A 5 Seconds of Summer t-shirt is the perfect show-night accessory. Wednesday evening, Josh Groban with special guest Jennifer Hudson heads to Gas South Arena — another indoor show worth a look.
Grill Tonight While You Can
Tonight’s mild temperatures and light winds make for ideal backyard weather. Fire up burgers, steaks, or grilled chicken with corn on the cob. An instant-read meat thermometer keeps everything perfectly cooked, and a Father’s Day grilling set is worth grabbing while the weather is still cooperative. Need ingredients? You can order groceries on Amazon and have everything delivered to your door. Looking to smoke something this week? Check out our guide to Pork Loin Under $1/lb.
Next Few Days
Daily thunderstorm chances continue through at least Wednesday and Thursday as the active pattern holds. The Braves’ series with San Francisco runs all three nights at Truist Park in Cumberland — keep checking the Atlanta weather forecast for the latest before you head out.
