Totally Tubular Festival Rolls Into Warner Theatre

Friday night, Washington, DC’s Warner Theatre hosts the Totally Tubular Festival, with doors set for 7:00 PM ET. It’s an indoor show, so once you’re through the doors, the only thing that matters is the setlist.

Getting There: Plan Around the Afternoon Storm Window

The National Weather Service is calling for a high near 92°F on Friday, with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms rolling through between 2 PM and 5 PM. Winds stay light out of the southwest at 3 to 8 mph, so this isn’t a wind event — it’s a heat-and-storm-timing event.

If you’re heading downtown for a 7 PM start, the good news is the highest storm risk should be tapering off by the time most people are leaving for the venue. Still, DC storms can be slow to clear, so give yourself extra buffer for the walk from parking garages or the Metro to the theater’s entrance on 13th Street. A short downpour on the way in is a real possibility, and DC summer humidity means even the walk from your car can feel sticky at 92°F.

If you’re driving, book garage parking near the theater ahead of time rather than circling for street spots — downtown DC on a Friday evening gets tight fast, storms or not. Metro riders should note that a quick platform-to-sidewalk dash is a lot more manageable than a multi-block walk if storms are still lingering.

Rep the Show

Once you’re inside, it’s all about the music. Rep your fandom with a Totally Tubular Festival t-shirt if merch is available at the venue — a great way to remember the night.

Know Before You Go

  • Doors: 7:00 PM ET
  • Venue: Warner Theatre, Washington, DC
  • Arrive early: Give yourself extra time given the afternoon storm chance and DC traffic
  • Theaters run cold: Warner Theatre’s AC can be strong even on a 92°F day outside — a light layer is worth having once you’re in your seat
  • Check bag policy: Confirm what you can bring in before you leave home to avoid a line at security

With storms most likely well before showtime, the biggest weather factor is just timing your arrival smart — after that, it’s a Warner Theatre night through and through.
