Shakira Lights Up Barclays Center

Shakira brings the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour to Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Monday, July 20 at 8:30 PM ET. The show goes on rain or shine, sun or clouds — Barclays Center is fully indoors, so once you’re through the doors, the Brooklyn weather is a non-issue.

Getting There

The National Weather Service calls for a sunny day with a high near 80°F and a light easterly breeze of 3 to 10 mph — about as easy as it gets for getting to a show. Chance of precipitation sits at just 1%, so you shouldn’t need to worry about getting caught in rain on the walk from parking or the subway.

That said, if you’re walking a few blocks from a garage or the Atlantic Ave–Barclays Center station, that breeze might have a little bite once the sun starts dropping in the evening. Nothing dramatic, just enough to notice if you’re standing outside waiting on the plaza before doors.

What to Bring (and Wear)

Barclays Center, like most big arenas, keeps the AC cranked and can run cool once you’re inside for a few hours — especially if you’re up in the seats away from the crowd. A light layer under your show outfit is a smart move so you’re not shivering by the encore.

Rep your fandom before you even get inside — a Shakira t-shirt or Shakira hoodie (the hoodie doubles as that extra layer once the AC kicks in) are easy calls for the night. Want to go all out? A Shakira hat rounds out the look, and a Shakira poster makes a solid keepsake once you’re home replaying the setlist in your head.

Arena shows get loud fast, and Shakira’s production is no exception — a pair of concert ear plugs high fidelity lets you protect your hearing without losing the sound quality that makes a live show worth it.

Practical Tips

Give yourself extra time for parking and security — arena bag policies are typically strict, so travel light and check what’s allowed before you head out. Since the forecast is dry and mild, there’s no need to plan around weather delays; just plan around Brooklyn traffic and get to Barclays Center with time to spare before that 8:30 PM ET start.
