RUSH: Fifty Something at Madison Square Garden
RUSH takes the stage at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, July 28 at 7:30 PM ET for Fifty Something. MSG is one of the great indoor venues to see a legendary act, and once you’re through the doors, the show goes on rain or shine.
Getting There
That said, the trip to MSG could get soggy. The National Weather Service is calling for showers and thunderstorms likely in New York on Tuesday, with a high near 84°F and a 61% chance of precipitation. Winds will run 7 to 13 mph out of the SW.
Translation: build in extra time before doors. If you’re driving in, MSG parking is mostly in nearby garages, so budget a few extra minutes to walk over from the lot if storms are rolling through. If you’re taking the train, Penn Station sits right under the Garden — about as dry a walk as you’ll get in Manhattan.
Either way, don’t cut it close. Between potential storm delays on the roads or subway and typical MSG entry lines, aim to arrive well before the 7:30 PM ET start.
Rep the Band
Once you’re inside, it’s all about the music. Grab a RUSH t-shirt before the show or at the merch stand to rep your fandom all night. A RUSH hoodie doubles as a solid layer if MSG runs cool once the AC kicks in — arenas can get chilly even in July, so a light layer is worth having in your bag either way.
And if you’ve seen RUSH before, you know the sound in that building gets loud. A pair of concert ear plugs high fidelity lets you protect your hearing without losing the clarity of the mix — worth tossing in your pocket before you head out.
Practical Tips
- Arrive early. Between potential weather delays getting into the city and standard arena security lines, don’t wait until 7:15 PM ET to show up.
- Check what you can bring. MSG has bag policies, so travel light if you can.
- Dress for indoors, prep for outdoors. Once you’re in your seat, the storm outside is someone else’s problem — just get there dry and on time.
See you at the Garden.
