Reggae Fest Presents Masicka Takes Over Barclays Center

Reggae Fest rolls into Brooklyn on Saturday, August 15 at 8:00 PM ET, bringing Masicka to the Barclays Center stage. It’s a festival-energy night indoors, which means the show goes on rain or shine — but there are still a few things worth knowing before you head out.

Getting There

The National Weather Service calls for a sunny Saturday, with a high near 81°F and only a 10% chance of rain. Winds will run around 9 mph out of the northwest — nothing that should slow down your walk from the parking lot or subway to the doors.

That said, Barclays Center sits right at the Atlantic Avenue–Barclays Center transit hub, and Brooklyn crowds on a Saturday night mean foot traffic builds fast. If you’re driving, give yourself extra time to find parking and walk in — arriving 45 minutes to an hour before doors is a safe bet so you’re not rushing through security while the opening acts are already going. Once you’re inside, the weather is a non-issue for the rest of the night.

What to Bring

Barclays Center runs a clear-bag policy for most events, so leave the backpack at home and stick to a small clutch or clear tote if you’re bringing one. Double check your ticket for entry gate assignment ahead of time — it’ll save you a lap around the building once you’re on site.

Arena air conditioning can run cool even in August, so a light layer over your show outfit isn’t a bad idea if you tend to get cold sitting through a few hours of sets.

Rep the Night

Festival nights like this are as much about the fit as the lineup. Whatever you’re wearing to represent Masicka or the reggae scene, this is the crowd for it — dancehall energy from the parking lot straight through to the encore.

Bottom Line

Mild, dry weather on the way to Barclays Center, a clear-bag policy once you’re there, and a show that doesn’t care what’s happening outside once the doors close. Get there early, dress for a cool arena, and let Masicka and the rest of the Reggae Fest lineup take it from there.
