Eastern Festival of Music: USA at 250!

Eastern Festival of Music brings its USA at 250! program to Dana Auditorium at Guilford College on Saturday, July 4, at 7:30 PM ET. Once you’re through the doors, it’s all about the music — the auditorium is fully indoors, so nothing about the performance itself depends on what’s happening outside.

Getting There: Plan Around the Heat

The forecast for Greensboro on July 4 is about as hot as it gets: the National Weather Service is calling for a sunny day with a high near 101°F, light south-southwest wind at 1 to 6 mph, and only a 1% chance of rain. That heat won’t touch you once you’re seated, but it will absolutely affect your walk from the car.

A few things to keep in mind for the trip in:

  • Park and go straight in. With temperatures near 101°F still lingering into the evening, don’t plan to linger in the lot. Head inside as soon as you park.
  • Arrive a little early, but don’t wait outside. Give yourself time for parking and entry, then spend any extra minutes in the air-conditioned lobby rather than outdoors.
  • Dress for the walk, not the show. Something light for the outdoor stretch is smart — you can always layer up once you’re inside (more on that below).

No rain is expected, so getting wet isn’t a concern — this is purely a heat-and-sun situation for the short walk from your car to the auditorium doors.

Once You’re Inside

This is a performance to settle into, not a festival to gear up for. Skip the outdoor gear — there’s no need for sunscreen or rain protection once you’re in your seat. If anything, keep in mind that indoor auditoriums often run on the cooler side thanks to air conditioning working overtime against a 101°F day outside, so a light layer or sweater in your bag isn’t a bad idea for comfort during the performance.

Practical Tips

  • Venue: Dana Auditorium, Guilford College, Greensboro, NC
  • Doors/Show: 7:30 PM ET, July 4, 2026
  • Weather to plan around: Sunny, high near 101°F, light wind — dress light for the walk in, bring a layer for inside
  • Bags and items: Check with the venue directly on bag policy before you head out

Get there early, stay cool on the walk in, and let Eastern Festival of Music take it from there.
