San Francisco weather today is sunny and 68°F with light southwest winds of 2 to 10 mph—one of those classic spring days that reminds you why you live here.

According to the National Weather Service, we’re in a warming and drying trend that’ll stick around through Thursday, though the marine layer is becoming more stable thanks to a cutoff low to the southwest. That means coastal neighborhoods like the Marina, Sunset, and Richmond will stay in the comfortable mid-60s, while areas further inland—think the Mission, Noe Valley, and up toward the Peninsula—could see upper 70s or even break 80°F. It’s that classic Bay Area microclimate magic: pick your neighborhood, pick your temperature.

Tonight stays mostly clear with lows around 52°F, so if you’re planning an evening stroll across the Golden Gate Bridge or around Lands End, grab a windproof beanie wool to cut the chill off the water. Overnight stratus will build along the Peninsula and around Point Reyes, but it shouldn’t spoil your evening plans.

Thursday looks even better—sunny highs near 70°F with the same light winds. This is prime time to hit Golden Gate Park, grab a coffee in the Haight, or head out to Ocean Beach for some fresh air. If you’ve been meaning to tackle yard work, this is your window: conditions are ideal for using a cordless lawn mower or getting your lawn fertilizer spring application done before the weekend. A dog splash pad in the backyard would also be perfect for keeping your pup cool during afternoon play.

Looking ahead, cooler conditions return this weekend with a chance of drizzle and light rain early next week, so make the most of Wednesday and Thursday’s sunshine.

Weekend plans? Don’t miss the Charlie Puth concert at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on Friday, May 1st. Grab a Charlie Puth t-shirt, Charlie Puth hoodie, or Charlie Puth hat to show your support, and check for tickets on SeatGeek. Friday evening looks dry and partly cloudy with lows around 54°F—perfect concert weather.

For dinner tonight, a simple pasta or stir-fry pairs well with this mild weather. If you need ingredients, you can order groceries on Amazon and have everything for tonight’s dinner delivered to your door. Stock up on fresh vegetables and your favorite proteins while you’re at it.

Stay dry and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts!
