Beautiful Tuesday Ahead—But Watch Those Beach Rip Currents
Good morning, neighbors! We’ve got a gorgeous day shaping up for you today, and I want to make sure you’re ready to take advantage of it—safely.
Today’s Setup
Expect mostly sunny skies with highs near 84°F. The main thing to watch is the wind: we’re looking at east winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. That’s enough to keep things breezy but not problematic for most outdoor plans.
Here’s the important part if you’re heading to the beach: the National Weather Service has issued a High Risk for life-threatening rip currents today. This is serious stuff. If you’re swimming, stay near lifeguard stations, and if you feel caught in a rip current, don’t panic—swim parallel to the shore until you’re out of it. The gusty easterly winds are pushing water toward the coast, which creates those dangerous currents.
Perfect Day for Outdoor Activities
If you’re staying inland, this is prime time for just about everything else:
Grilling? Absolutely. The winds are manageable, and the weather is ideal. Fire up that propane grill for burgers, steaks, or grilled chicken with corn on the cob. If you don’t have one already, this is perfect grilling weather to invest in a quality setup. An instant-read meat thermometer takes the guesswork out of doneness, and you’ll be amazed at the difference it makes.
Lawn care? The wind will actually help dry out clippings, so this is a solid day to mow if you’ve been waiting for things to dry out.
Golfing or fishing? Both are looking great. The winds won’t be too strong to interfere, and the sunshine will keep you comfortable without being oppressive.
Theme park day? If you’re planning a Disney, Universal, or SeaWorld visit, today is excellent. Mostly sunny, warm but not scorching, and virtually no rain in the forecast. Just bring sunscreen and maybe a light layer for air conditioning indoors.
Tonight Into Wednesday
Temperatures drop to around 60°F tonight with mostly clear skies. Watch for patchy fog after 4 a.m., especially northwest of the I-4 corridor. If you’re driving early Wednesday morning, give yourself a little extra time.
Wednesday starts with that patchy fog, but it clears by mid-morning into another sunny, beautiful day with highs near 85°F. Even better than today.
Looking Ahead
We’re in a warm, dry pattern that continues through the rest of the week. Thursday looks even warmer with highs near 87°F and virtually no rain. The next real weather change doesn’t arrive until Sunday night into Monday, when a cold front brings a small chance of showers early next week. Nothing severe, just a brief break in the sunshine.
Enjoy this stretch of perfect spring weather—it won’t last forever!
Your dinner idea: This is the day for grilling. Get those steaks or chicken on the grill and enjoy dinner outside while the weather’s this nice.
