Dallas–Fort Worth is kicking off Memorial Day weekend with mostly sunny skies and a high near 87°F — light northeast winds of 0 to 5 mph and an overnight low around 69°F make this one of the nicer Sundays of the season. If you’ve been waiting for a solid outdoor day in the Metroplex, you’ve got it. Stay current with the Dallas–Fort Worth weather forecast as the holiday week unfolds.

Today’s Setup

The National Weather Service is tracking a weak surface trough draped across North Texas early this morning. Patchy mist near daybreak is possible east of US-75/I-45 where near-surface moisture is deepest, but it clears well before mid-morning. From there it’s textbook May sunshine — precipitation chances sit at just 14% through the day and tonight. Calm-wind days like today can concentrate pollen, so allergy sufferers may want to pack antihistamines before heading out.

Best Window To Be Outside

The whole day cooperates, but 9 AM to 1 PM CT is your sweet spot before the afternoon peaks near 87°F. White Rock Lake, Klyde Warren Park, and the Trinity River Greenbelt trails are all excellent options. Anglers will find calm conditions on Lake Lewisville or Lake Ray Hubbard this morning — a clean fishing window before summer crowds arrive. Golfers, this might be the best course-day of the month: light winds, full sun, and comfortable temps. Pack a pair of golf shorts men and go early. Browse outdoor gear deals if you need to top off your kit.

Memorial Day & Rangers Gameday

Monday’s Memorial Day forecast is nearly as good: sunny, high near 88°F, just a 10% rain chance. That’s a green light for the Texas Rangers vs. Houston Astros at Globe Life Field on May 25 — and the series continues May 27. Tailgating in Arlington will be warm but very manageable with the light breeze. Gear up with a Texas Rangers jersey or Texas Rangers fitted cap before heading to the ballpark, and Get tickets on SeatGeek if you still need seats.

Rain and Severe Weather Risk

No significant severe weather is expected today or on Memorial Day. The National Weather Service notes scattered showers and thunderstorms remain possible through the broader holiday week, with locally heavy rainfall and lightning as the main recurring hazards — the overall severe threat is low. DFW is not included in any current WPC excessive rainfall risk area, so outdoor plans are in good shape.

Tonight’s Events

MGK’s Lost Americana Tour plays Dos Equis Pavilion tonight — mild evening temps in the low 80s make that outdoor venue a comfortable spot. Wicked (Touring) also runs at Music Hall At Fair Park tonight if live theater fits your Sunday better.

Fire Up the Grill

Late May in DFW rarely hands you a better cookout evening than this. Burgers, steaks, or grilled chicken with corn on the cob are all smart calls — or try smoking tri-tip like brisket for a real Memorial Day showstopper. Make sure your gear is dialed in: an instant-read meat thermometer takes the guesswork out of any cut, and a grill brush and scraper set keeps those grates ready for a perfect sear. Need ingredients? You can order groceries on Amazon and have everything for tonight’s dinner delivered to your door.

Next Few Days

Memorial Day (Mon 5/25): Sunny, near 88°F — a gem of a holiday. Tue onward: Storm chances increase gradually through the week. The National Weather Service flags locally heavy rainfall and lightning as recurring hazards through the period; timing details will sharpen. Watch the Dallas–Fort Worth weather forecast for updates as confidence improves.
